We are born to live a life of strength, vitality, peace and happiness.
What you can do to reclaim health for yourself and your family and to maintain your health throughout the years.
1. Stay subluxation free
Subluxations (internal structural distortions) can cause serious health problems. Subluxations stress out your nervous system and interfere with the communications among your organs, muscles, glands, brain, immune system, and other body parts. Subluxations can be caused by many things such as falls, accidents, emotional upsets, chemical toxins, malnutrition, overworking, etc.
Most people have subluxations and do not know about it. For this reason everyone needs periodic chiropractic checkups.
2. Eat nutrient dense foods
We live in a world where processed foods and genetically modified foods are abundant. These foods should be avoided. Processed foods contain sugar, high fructose corn syrup and white flour. The ingredients in processed foods can damage your body. Avoid soda, margarine, canola oil, corn and vegetable oils, and artificial sweeteners.
Instead, choose nutrient dense foods that include healthy fats and oils (olive and coconut oils, butter), grass fed beef, non-pasteurized raw milk and raw milk products. Organic foods are more nutritious than conventionally grown foods.
3. Cleanse yourself of toxins
To ensure perfect health we need to keep our bodies free of toxins that can interfere with the function of our nerves, muscles, glands, tissues and cells. These toxins include mercury, aluminum, copper and other heavy metals. Other toxins arise from cigarettes, environmental pollution, over the counter and prescription drugs.
A detoxification protocol may be necessary to cleanse your body and we can discuss this and assist you in this area.
4. Stay hydrated
Dehydration has been linked to depression, high blood pressure, muscle weakness, heart problems, vision problems, disc problems, fatigue, exhaustion and many other physical and mental conditions. Drink good quality spring water or filtered water to help prevent disease and maintain good health.
5. Stay physically active
Exercise helps make your heart, lungs and other internal organs healthier and lengthens your life. The best exercise you can do should get your heart pumping and your lungs working. Just ten minutes of intensive exercise per day is much more effective for weight loss, and cardiovascular (heart and lungs) than an hour of jogging. Walking can also do wonders for your physical and mental health.
6. Get enough rest
Plenty of sleep is necessary to keeping you healthy. “Insufficient sleep has been implicated in everything from cardiovascular disease to obesity to impaired immune response. It can also create stress, disrupt relationships, and make a person more accident prone.” [Ross H. The Definitive Guide to Sleep Disorders. Berkeley CA: Celestial Arts 2007;1]
7. Exercise your mind
Your mind, heart and spirit need to be exercised just like your body. Meditate, pray, explore life’s mysteries. Discover the excitement of being alive. Start by taking small steps at first, and larger ones will follow.
8. Enjoy nourishing relationships
Common sense tells us that people in healthy relationships are better off. Nourish deeper connections with family, friends, co-workers. Explore social organizations, clubs, religious meetings. Get involved. Anger, fear, loneliness and disconnection weaken your immune system. Emotions of gratitude and love are the most healing.
Chiropractic care can connect you to your healing potential. Chiropractic can help open you to detoxification, relaxation, emotional healing and a deeper connection to oneself and others.
Chiropractic care helps people become more physically balanced which often leads to increases in energy and the ability to move physically and emotionally. Correcting subluxations can improve mental function and relieve depression.
